The Lab was created because of a real lack of understanding and service in the print industry for artists.  After repeatedly dissatisfying attempts to work with New York and local labs, as well as a steady interest from other artists to work with me, I starting building The Lab.  I call it The Lab because I wanted to make a definitive statement about our pursuit of perfection in making beautiful prints for artists. There may as well not be any other place on the planet to get your prints made.  We are here to support and work exclusively with the art community.  We are artists working with artists to create images that meet the most demanding expectations.

I also call it The Lab because I think we are at an amazing time in the evolution of the photographic process.  It would have been impossible for someone with barely any money to create a lab 15 years ago because of the equipment required for the photographic printing processes being used then.  A Lab used to mean a big place with lots of chemicals and huge processor machines. We do not use any chemicals here and we are relatively small.  If anything, the idea of experimentation in the words The Lab more so than anything embody much of what we are about.
