The Lab Bio

The Lab was founded by Eric Recktenwald in 2006. It has gone through many transformations until finally becoming the digital imaging print studio it currently is.  Originally called Gray Matter, it was a studio/residence in New York and then an artist studio in the Thorp Building here in Minneapolis. The Lab took up 3 small studios next to each other on the 2nd floor until there was no room left.  To keep things simple The Lab moved to a 1700 sq ft studio on the 1st floor of the building this past March.
